Let Us Pray – together

The first Thursday of each month is the National Day of Prayer.  It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.  It is an honor and privilege to gather both publicly and privately to pray.  Pray to the Father, asking Him to heal our land, heal our families and ask Him to direct our paths in Jesus name

One of the joys we have at Straight Street is helping to coordinate events, bringing churches and Christians together, outside of the church walls and work together.  Our role as a para church ministry is to be a support to the local church body and help believers serve with one another.  On Thursday, May 7th, Christians gathered in downtown Roanoke for prayer, worship and meet new friends.  Please keep praying as Straight Street strives to be a bridge builder as a para church ministry.

Project Faith

Faith Christian School has a fund raiser each year that is a little different than most.  They raise money for the school by going into the community and serving. This year, they selected Straight Street as one of the places they would serve – and did they ever!  Below are pictures of the art  work in our nursery and a mural they did for the game room.  Thankful for the time and investment the children, parents and staff of Faith Christian Schools made into the Straight Street Ministry. Looking forward to Project Faith 2016 and having the group help with new projects at Straight Street and helping those we serve.

Street Ransom

A friend of the ministry built a custom motorcycle to be used to share about Street Ransom.  It has been a blessing to take it to local shows and share about the human trafficking outreach and the need for awareness and victim support services.   Also, new shirts have been designed and are being seen all over Roanoke – including the Roanoke Police Department.  Below is a picture of Deputy Chief Jones at a recent event. He didn’t know that I would be at the event, however, he wanted to show what he wore that day under his uniform – awesome!Street Ransom Officer Shirt
